Foi publicado o DL 363/2007, de 2 de Novembro, que estabelece o regime jurídico aplicável à produção de electricidade por intermédio de instalações de microgeração (c.f. Art 1º).
O DL concede um tratamento muito simpático à produção solar, estabelecendo um tarifário que pode chegar aos 650 €/MWh, para unidades com potência até 3,68 kW.
